Since 1964, the Ford Motor Company has been upholding the American muscle car tradition with the legendary Mustang. The new Ford Mustang is available in two body types: convertible and coupe. Six of the nine models for the latest model year are fastback coupes that celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Mustang with a retro-inspired design.
The sleek, two-door Mustang coupe models at Heritage Ford boast an exterior design with style elements of the fastback models from the 1970s. The Mustang retains its classic silhouette. However, when compared to the previous generation, this one looks more muscular and even slightly futuristic. A sculpted hood is standard across all models, but the grille is shaped differently in the performance-focused GT line. The rear end is where you can see hints of what the future holds for Mustang design; the new angled taillights extend onto the rear fenders, and there's a new prominent diffuser.

EcoBoost® Fastback
The base model is powered by the Ford 2.3-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder engine, which delivers 314 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The throttle response is managed by the Active Anti-Lag system. A 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission is standard for this Mustang, but Ripon, CA drivers can also choose an optional manual transmission. Going with the automatic transmission lets you shift via paddle controls mounted on the steering wheel, giving you back some of the control that comes with a manual.
EcoBoost® Premium Fastback
Performance and technology are at the heart of this model, which comes with voice-activated navigation for the Ford SYNC® 4 infotainment and Ford Co-Pilot360™ driver-assist systems. You can request the Mustang high-performance package with manual transmission starting with this model, and you also get the Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker premium audio system with a subwoofer.
GT Fastback
Here we have a touring-oriented Mustang with a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine under the hood, which generates 480 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The naturally aspirated powertrain is cooled by a dual air intake system that slightly changes the exterior appearance. If you choose the Mustang high-performance package for this model, you get a sport-tuned manual transmission with smart RPM management plus a Torsen limited-slip differential for improved traction and cornering.
GT Premium Fastback
The upgrades for the GT Premium are mostly centered on technology, audio and convenience. In addition to integrated navigation and voice commands, Ceres, CA drivers get the Bang & Olufsen sound system plus the enhanced version of the Ford Co-Pliot360 suite of driver-assist functions. This includes hands-free adaptive cruise control in traffic jam conditions. Leather seats, decorative door trim, a heated steering wheel, a universal garage door opener and a FordPass Connect™ subscription are also part of this model.
Dark Horse Premium
Here you have the special model that celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang. All the previously mentioned upgrades are in the new Dark Horse Premium, a collector's edition Mustang with special badging and exterior accents. This model offers the optional handling package complete with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires, MagneRide damping and Ford's open-air induction system for high-performance driving.

If the Mustang Fastback is a muscle car and the GT is a touring car, the Dark Horse is a supercar. This fire-breathing Mustang is powered by the Ford Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, which easily generates up to 500 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. Manteca, CA shoppers can swap the SelectShift 10-speed automatic transmission for the TREMEC six-speed manual gearbox, which is specifically calibrated and tuned for the Coyote powertrain.
